What We Believe
To glorify God in all we do (WORSHIP) through activities that will bring people to Jesus (WIN), to develop them in their growth in Christ like maturity (BUILD), to train and help them find their ministry in the church and world (EQUIP), to equip and encourage each Christ follower as to their role in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ (MULTIPLY), to support those who are called into cross-cultural missions opportunities (SEND), and in all the context and spirit of Christian unity and love (FELLOWSHIP). Our mission is to be a Great Commandment Church fulfilling Christ's command to love God (WORSHIP), each other (FELLOWSHIP) and others (SERVICE) passionately while reaching out to be used by God in fulfilling the Great Commission in reaching our community and world with the Good News of Jesus Christ (EVANGELISM) that they might become Christ followers learning to obey Christ in baptism and all that He teaches (DISCIPLESHIP)..
- Our vision is to be a church reaching out toward others in our community and world; meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs; while reaching up to God who gives us purpose, strength and love; that others might come to know, love, follow and serve Jesus.
- Our focus is to meet the needs (physical, social and spiritual) of our community in culturally relevant ways.
- Our hope is founded upon the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and His promised return.
- Our strength is based on the Promises of God's Word that He is sufficient and will supply all our needs.
- Our purpose is to fulfill what God has placed us upon this earth to accomplish including -- Worship, Community, Growth, Service to God and Sharing the Good News of Jesus with others.
- Our goal is to become all that God has for us to become and to reach South Buffalo, the surrounding communities and the greater world with Jesus Christ.
Our Core Values
1. Prayer as a foundational privilege and responsibility in the life and breath of each person who claims a relationship with Jesus Christ and in the very life's breath of each gathering of the Church and it's ministries. (Matt. 6:5-13, Philip. 4:6-7, 1 Thess. 5:17) PRAYER
2. Strong Biblical-based preaching and teaching that emphasizes or engages both Biblical knowledge (intellect) and the heart/will through a focus on application and obedience. (Matt. 28:18-20Philip. 3:14-17, 4:8; Eph. 4:25-5:6; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 1 Tim 6:11-12) DISCIPLESHIP
3. Strong Biblical Leadership which follows passionately after the example and life of Jesus Christ and the development of new potential leaders as part of the process of fulfilling God's command to equip the church for ministry. (Mark 10:45, John 12:1-16, Eph. 4, Philip. 4:9) LEADERSHIP
4. God's worth as Almighty God and Creator of the Universe. Therefore we will give God our worship in everything that we do, say and think as the body of Christ. We understand that we have been created to bring glory to God in all that we do both individually and as a church. (Romans 11:34-36, Philip. 4:4, John 4:23-24, Eph. 5:17-20, Psalm 150) WORSHIP
5. God's great love for the world and His desire for all men to come to Him in relationship through placing their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Thus, we understand that God has called the church to bring this "Good News" to our immediate community, our neighborhoods, our work places, and even to the "outermost parts of the earth" (John 3:16, Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:18-20, Matt. 5:13-16, 1 Tim 2:3-7, 2 Tim 1:8, Romans 1:16) EVANGELISM
6. God's love for the poor and hopeless and His special concern in alleviating their suffering as seen through the example of Jesus as He walked this earth. Thus, we understand that part of bringing the "Good News" of Christ's Kingdom involves meeting the physical and emotional needs of those around us. We will pursue Spirit-led ways to do our part to bring hope to the hopeless and love to the loveless through "bridges" of "food for the hungry and water for the thirsty" that we might also bring to them what they need most - Jesus. (Matt. 6:1-4, 25:34-40; Philip 4:17, 2 Tim 2:11-13) OUTREACH
7. Christ's call for the church to experience the "oneness" that He experienced with God the Father while He walked this earth. We understand that God has called upon the church to walk in a spirit of unity and oneness of mind, spirit and love; that the world might know that we are followers (disciples) of Jesus Christ. (John 13:34-35, 17:20-23; Philip 2:2-4,14; Eph. 4:2-5) UNITY
8. That everything that we have is a gift from God and that God has called upon us to give toward His Kingdom's work. Thus, we understand that we have a privilege as well as a responsibility/command to give of our time, talents, service and money to God's work that others might come to know, love, follow and serve Jesus Christ. (Romans 11:33-36, Malachi 3, Matt 6:1-4, 2 Cor 9:6-15) STEWARDSHIP
