Caz Basketball is a seasonal outreach, where we hope to come alongside, and train, young men in teamwork, leadership, and responsibility- all in the context of a sport played in a Christian environment.
Our Purpose
Caz Basketball Ministries, in partnership with Caz Church & the WNYCBL, are calling young men, ages 12-18, in the South Buffalo and surrounding communities, to true biblical manhood through repentance and faith in Christ. Confusion over what manhood is has plagued our families, neighborhoods, and cities for generations. The concept of becoming a godly man of character has been all but lost, because of the negative cultural influences that our youth have to deal with, like sex, drugs, alcohol, pornography, social media, etc. They are taught to believe worldly ideas like, “making money will make you a man,” or “manhood is all about getting respect.” Our desire is to help our players understand what biblical manhood is by teaching and modeling this for them. Some of the character traits we teach and live out are…Responsibility, Respect, Courage, Resisting Envy & Temptation, and Repentance. We do not want to interfere with your role as a parent, but truly want to come alongside you and help in any way we can.

Our History
Caz Basketball has been an out reach ministry to young men in the South Buffalo area for over 20 years. We are an extension of the youth group at Cazenovia Park Baptist Church. We are part of the Western NY Christian Basketball League, formally known as the South Buffalo Christian Basketball League. This league has been around for over 50 Years!

Here are the details if you’re interested in playing:
Registration begins in late September, and costs $25. In October, we have a 4-week tryout practice…what this means is we “try you out” to place you on one of our teams, not to determine if we should cut you. In November you are assigned to a team and begin your team practices once a week. In December, pre-season and regular season begins. We are part of the WNYCBL and play all games from December to March on Saturdays. We currently play at the HUB at 4999 McKinley Parkway in Hamburg.
Rosters must be submitted by October, so we are not able to accept new players after then. Also, this ministry is currently only open for boys ages 12-18.
